Did you realize that your about page has the power to help convert website visitors? The about page is where potential clients have the opportunity to get to know YOU, the person behind the business, your Why, and what makes you different from others in your industry.
Most websites that I see overlook this prime piece of website real estate, so today I’m sharing the four things that every compelling About Page needs.
Who You Are
And what you’re passionate about! But keep it brief. People aren’t on your website to learn in-depth about your beanie baby collection. Talk about your qualifications, your years in business, and what type of projects you like to work on.
What You Offer
Obviously, you should have a section that details your services, but I’m talking more about other ways you add value to your clients. How you are reliable, good at communication, care about their happiness, etc.
Why They Should Hire YOU
This is where you lay it all out on the table. Why should they work with you over other web designers / photographers / social media managers / copywriters. What is different about working with you than with someone else?
Professional Photo
Having a high-quality photo leaves a great first impression. It’s absolutely worth it to pay $150 for headshots. Not only can you use them on your website but also in your marketing materials, and on social media.
